The main thing that offends me is movies that think they’re so freaking smart, but are, in actuality, quite dumb. I also don’t think doing hard-boiled crime movies and a particularly extreme example of the zombie apocalypse movie are really that offensive in principle. Thus, all of the Bakshi movies you listed are disqualified, as I don’t think he was trying to piss people off with them that just happened because of how hot-button the issues he talked about were. I tend to not look for those kinds of movies these days, because I tend to look at the intent behind a movie over how it chooses to go about what it’s doing. ![]() It had potential! The book was really out there! But the execution of the film was kind of like watching a Benny Hill skit….with coprophagia.Īnd I might as well just make an unpopular opinion hat trick while I’m here! The Human Centipede! I really enjoyed the 1st, I was truly frightened by the 2nd, and the 3rd…while not a cartoon.I think it may be in the realm of what OP was looking for! Lol it got pretty cartoony by the end! It’s cringy that this one even ends up next to A Serbian Film on these “most shocking” lists. Salo was a “oh look at me look at me I’m so artsy and edgy” eye rolling “art house film”. I’m not saying it was a triumph of the human soul or anything…but it was an interesting movie! There was action, and drama, and for the focus being kind of torture porn like.the writing and plot was a lot better than I had expected! I cared about what happened to Milos by the end!Īlso while I’m on my unpopular opinion soapbox: I realize A Serbian Film was supposed to be graphic and upsetting and all that. ![]() Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022).(note that this doesn't apply to comments on Requesting posts) This means they are very good or at least largely popular.
